DIGITAL DESIGN • UI DESIGN • WEB/EMAIL DESIGN • GRAPHIC DESIGN • VIDEO • MULTIMEDIA DESIGN
Weplay was a social media web startup with funding and seed-support from professional athletes, CAA management and a few others. In short: it was a social media platform for little leaguers in all sports; demographic being teenagers and tweens. Weplay was located in the mlb.com offices in the Chelsea Market building. I was brought in prelaunch and to put a skin/face on it. Work was in all forms of digital design, from logo and branding, presentation design, mock-up design, to my main purpose for being brought in - UI design. Work also included video shoots, editing and compositing. I worked with a small, efficient team of Rails developers, UX developers, and software programmers on this fully interactive website, whose reach and database before it sold was in the millions. Weplay was bought by its competition in 2013 with its interest and holdings now being part of teamsnap.
UI Design-Homepage
I'm showing a few of the initial concepts and build-outs of weplay's interface and homepage. This changed quite a few times and there was certainly a lot more than what I'm showing here, I've narrowed it down to a few of the interface designs that made the shortlist and also the final first-launch interface. Weplay was reskinned several times after.

UI Design-Pages
These were the designs of the initial launch for user dashboards, groups and pages, and also for beta testing. These were all highly developed on Rails and users could organize, and move their widgets and modules as they pleased while interacting with a backend database.

UI Design-Ad Pages
There are also a lot of these created for varying brands invested in Weplay. I feel showing these three conveys the idea of this type of work completed for weplay.

Logo + Business Cards
These were print-related design for business cards for Weplay as well as final two short-listed logo designs. The final logo for Weplay can also be found on the logo design page of this site.

Video Intro Interface
These were designs for a video promotion Weplay was running to promote its launch. They featured NBA players LeBron James and Tony Parker doing video presentations, tips and words of b-ball wisdom. This was done for Derek Jeter and Mia Hamm as well, Weplay represented all sports and had pro-backing for most major categories of the games. All of these pro atheletes were early investors in Weplay so they were behind a lot of its promotions and marketing, these being some of them.

Video
Compositing, editing video and sound work have all been a part of my work with Weplay. This video featuring NBA pro Tony Parker included shooting, editing and compositing as well as sound work. There were quite a few of these, I unfortunately have lost the others, but feel this is a good representation of the type of video work I completed for Weplay. The others were for LeBron James, Derek Jeter and Mia Hamm. These were short, tip-filled, tricks and advice by players to users and were used to promote Weplay pre-launch and after.
